Chair of Governors, Finance and Health & Well Beingchrishuwwilliams@gmail.com
My name is Chris Williams and I’m the dad of Lily who attends this school (Grace my eldest left after Year 6 in July). I’m Chair of Governors for Fowey Primary School. My day job is running Fowey Hall. As a family (with Melissa my wife) we moved to Fowey three years ago. I volunteered to be a Governor to help give something back to the town where we live. I’ve really enjoyed this challenge in particular helping Wendy and now Dan and their lovely team with the new menus.
Term of office ends 03/12/2020
SEND and Whistleblowing
My name is Lucy Elliott and I am a PLT Board Appointed Governor at Fowey Primary School. I have two sons, Jago and Maban who currently attend this school. I am an Art and Design/Photography Teacher at Penrice Academy, and have been teaching now for over twelve years.
As a governor my aim is to be involved in all aspects of school life, where I can share both my knowledge and skills in education. I enjoy being part of whole school decisions, long term goals, ideas and aspirations, as well as helping out with school play backdrops, arts activities, Wednesday Workshops and selling refreshments at school discos.
Term of office ends 17/09/2019
My name is Chris Price and I live in Fowey with my wife, Dina. My day job is as a chartered accountant, working for myself. I became a governor because I love the town and wanted to get more involved in the community. Fowey Primary School is such a wonderful school and I am delighted to be able to play a part in its continuing success. I am also a director of the Peninsula Learning Trust (that’s the name of the overall multi-academy trust that the school joined last year).
Term of office ends 27/04/2019
Safeguarding and Governor Development
My name is Jaine Colwill and I’ve loved being involved with Fowey Primary School for the past 8 years. After being a governor for 4 years I have recently returned to the role. I’ve enjoyed everything from helping out on school trips and seeing children learn to sail during Wednesday Workshops, to contributing to the strategic direction of the school. Working in public health I know that school plays such an important part in giving all children the best possible start in life and it’s a privilege to be able to contribute to this in some way.
Term of office ends 28/09/19
I’m Sinead Hanks with one daughter Regan at the school and little Soren who will be there one day! I’m a former pupil of Fowey Primary and after moving away for several years returned in 2011 with my family. My background is in working with charities and in the media, and am the founder of the Love Fowey community website. We also own Any Old Lights vintage lighting shop in town. As a new Governor I am particularly interested in building links with the community, as the Primary school is such an important aspect of Fowey life.
Term of office ends 22/07/19
My name is Kay Taylor and I am a Parent Appointed Governor of Fowey Primary School. I am presently a stay-at-home mum to my two sons Henry and Hugh who both attend the school. I have worked in education for 20 years either teaching scuba-diving abroad or lecturing in Art and Humanities at FE level. I became a governor because I have found Fowey Primary School to be a hugely supportive and nurturing environment for both of my children and wished to give something back to the school.
Term of office ends 20/06/2020
Board Appointed Governor
My name is Natalie Peperell, I have two children at Fowey Primary School, Rebecca and Austin. My husband, my children and I moved to Fowey a year ago from Bath. I have worked in education for 12 years and currently teach at Truro and Penwith College, as well as my Head Coach role for the Welsh U21 Netball squad. This is my first appointment as Governor of a school, and I was drawn to this to give something back to a school which has made a huge difference to my children already in such a small space of time.
Term of office ends 07/05/2021
Parent Appointed Governor
My name is Kay Peacey, and I am a parent governor, appointed in Summer 2017. My professional background is in mathematics and IT education. I live in Fowey and have a daughter in the school.
Term of office ends 07/05/2021
Staff Elected Governor
Term of office ends 06/11/2018
Clerk to Governors
My name is Pat Richards and I am Clerk to Governors at Fowey Primary school. My husband and I retired to the beautiful town of Fowey some 12 years ago. I was invited to take on the role of Clerk some six months later, which I duly accepted. I have seen many changes, but have enjoyed watching the school grow and children benefiting from their aspirations/goals being reached.
